I was asked to re-design their online portfolio. The previous portfolio was built in flash and because of that it presented problems with SEO. In addition, the design was dated and the animations made it excruciatingly tedious to access to their projects.
Old site vs new site mockup comparison. The new design firstly introduces to the office’s different lines of work.
I proposed a very direct website in which no more than 3 clicks were required to reach a specific project. This has become one of my traits and main ways of working on UX and web design, in which simplicity is key for better user’s attention and actions.
This was a collaborative work between myself and both owners Mirene Elton and Mauricio Léniz, for which they provided a photographer to register all of their projects that would go on the website. Additionally this website was built in WordPress for auto-administration. Coding was done by a my fellow designer colleague, Alberto Marcías.
Proposal of projects layout. The concept is to allow an overall view of the office’s projects divided by lines of work.
The result was outstanding. The office continues to use it nowadays even for their meetings with clients using the interface as PowerPoint slider for presentations. Also the website has been given the chance to be easily exhibited on the most influential online architecture magazines in the world and just recently it was adapted for mobile and tablets.
